Also interested in finding out what types of music are played at clubs on St Thomas. Are there any clubs that play heavy rock music? How about techno?

If anybody knows of clubs that do play any sort of techno, I would appreciate the names of them. The guy that is coming with me is a DJ here in TX, and I think he has dreams of trying to get involved in something down there.

Music at clubs.... well lets see R&B, Reggae, what ever is popular on the radio, 80's, rap, .... none of the bar/clubs really play strickly one music overall or even all night long. For example Greenhouse plays on Tuesday night a mixture of everything (popular US music, popular among local folks like reggae and some rap, some old stuff), on other nights they have reggae then they have a live band another night. Then usually a mixture. Duffys plays a mixture, lots of old stuff as well as popular songs (like popular on the radio stuff). Epernay upstairs plays a combo of zouk, maringue, techno, popular songs, r&b, usually not anything heavy. Heavy rock music - you will find rock music played at some bars on the East End maybe by live bands. Hotel and resort bars and clubs often play local music and have small bands play steel pan music or sing calypso. The Coco (cant remember the name) a spot at Morningstar... plays a mixture usually the DJ plays at request; went there a couple times and they played quite a bit of latin music. There are a couple spot in Havensight area that play rock - Shipwreck is one of them. Paradise Point often has rock music and sometimes hard rock bands playing - on Wednesdays. And Off Shore as well with rock music. As for techno the only place that you hear some being played in my experience is Epernay Upstairs. (No offense intended they play quite a deal more there when they host gay functions)

So rock you will find. Yes.

And your friend the DJ - sure he can try talking to some bars and seeing about DJing why not. 🙂 check out some places get a feel for them and see what happens.
