Good morning everyone,

I am (was) an experienced stone mason that wants to get back into that line of work. I have combed over the internet (online newspapers, business listings, internet searches, all links to this site) and haven't even been able to find a listing of construction companies! I must not be very good at internet searches, but his board is my last resort. Does anyone know where on the net I can find a listing of masonry contractors? Or maybe some names and numbers? It doesn't matter which island they are located on, but obviously i think that most if not all will be on STT. Thank you in advance.

Cheers,
Joe

Perhaps these places can give you more info or know of other construction companies. I just did a search and this is what I came up with.

Browne's Construction Co., Inc.
1-16 Estate Bovoni
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, USVI,
Virgin Islands, 00803
775- 3117

Bryan's Electrical Contracting Corp
Sub Base St. Thomas, USVI,
Virgin Islands,
340-776-2748

Hi Joe.

I checked the local telephone directory (viphonebook.com) and there are numerous listings under "Contractor." Folks here are not as specialized as they are in the states so stone masons are likely to be independent adjuncts to contractors. If you contact contractors they may have some suggestions for you on how to get in touch with other stone masons.

What about the historical preservation side of masonry - perhaps Gov'nment and NGO bodies might have need of, or have info for, a mason. There is also a Danish exchange program for youngsters. They might need a tutor. Help me out here folks. My brain is mush and I can't think of a name or specific organization to save my life.
