Hey guys! I have been a lurker for some time here and have finally decided to speak up. My friend and I, both in our mid twenties, are looking to move down to STT for at least six months for seasonal work and possibly for much longer if all goes well. We are planning an Oct move...is this a good month or would a little earlier or later be more advisable. Also, since we might only stay six months, would it be better just to pick up an "island car" rather than shipping it. We have both been to STT, but we really could use any advice one could give. I have already sent off for an Island Trader just to start the ball rolling. By the way, we are both from North Carolina if ther are any other carolinians on the board!

Hello! My husband and I (we're 30 & 25) are from Charlotte, NC...Where are you guys? We just bought a condo on STX and are hoping to move there in a year or so...We got married on STT (at St. Peter's mnt greathouse overlooking Magen's Bay) last August though 🙂

Hey Amanda! We are living in Raleigh. I cant wait to get down there. Where is your condo on the island? I have been to STT, but it was only for a few days so I am not all that familiar with each part of the island.

Hello Island Time,

Welcome to posting on the board! 🙂

Mid/late October is good in my opinion (clear the more active hurricane months of August and September and also its when season starts picking up again so you should be able to land a seasonal job pretty easily). I would go with getting a car here rather than shipping one, particularly since right now you are looking at 6 months.
