Need some hurricane advice from experienced people.

I don't think anyone who has experienced a Hurricane with the magnitude of damages wrought by a Hugo, Marilyn,Katrina, Andrew would decide a Hurricane Party would be an event that would be on the preparation list for a major storm.

Even a TS like Irene can be tricky. Forecasters said it's path would be about 80 miles south of STX. Truth was, it went right over us, you could actually see STX on the radar during the time the eye was overhead. We were prepared, but should have been MORE ready for this. It meant Ric being out on the porch getting soaked while pulling the shutters ALL THE WAY shut, instead of sitting inside warm and dry.

How did you make out in the storm? I saw on line there is lots of flooding in VT.
