Going to Water Island next week and want to rent a boat for a day. Not the Captain (we're bringing our own). Just the boat. Probably 19 ft - 24 ft. Any recommendations for boat rental available to pick up in the Subbase, Frenchtown, CA area?

It's not in the "town" area, but Pirate's Cove Marina (east end) has 26' Merc Pangas (which are a breeze to 'drive') available at really reasonable rates. www.piratescovevi.com

Good luck and have fun!

Best,

LR

In Frenchtown, there is CYOA. 777-9690. I don't know if they have moved the boats for hurricane season or not but give them a call.

Since we're on the "opposite end" of Red Hook / East End, you have "read" into my question correctly that I'm wondering about boat rentals closer to Water Island. Ease of pick up / drop off. And, I should have specified Power Boat. I'm familiar with CYOA (at least from the water side) because we motor our dinghy by there on the way to the tire store - that's right next to the sea plane & fisherman docks. But, I didn't know they rented power boats.

In any case, thanks for the information. I guess I had wishful thinking that Pamela might surprise me with good news about boat rental at Crown Bay Marina or nearby though I've not been able to find any in that vicinity during our seasonal stays.

Sorry, no luck finding you a power boat out that way. Have fun anyway.
