New Development, STX?

When I was last on STX in Mar 09, there were 2 rumored new developments. One was near the rain forest and had a casino, marina and an island. The marina and some road frontage issues seemed to be a hangup at the time. The other was a casino, condo, hotel project on the eastern end of the south shore. I believe this one had started the permit process.
Has there been any progress on these projects? Do you think they will be built (timetable) or are they like the oft rumored Home Depot that never seems to come?

I don't know any specifics but it looks like the IHOP and Churchs (and auto store next to it) will be done before the mythical Home Depot and resort developments. Another way to look at it is these things will all eventually come - just might not be in any of our lifetimes!

Amalmago (sp?) the hotel/condo/marina development just had another hearing about beach sans replenishment. They wanted to replace the sand that was lost from previous storms. Denied with no reason. They say having a nice sandy beach is imperative for them. I agree. This is called the William and punch development proposed by the native Americans from CT. They have plenty of $.

Robin's Bay is still in the approval process and recently made some progress. It is on the south shore.
Golden resorts is still barely chugging along on the south shore.

The developer of the Home Depot project lives nearby and would still like to develop the project but money is nearly impossible right now.

Diagio the Captain Moorgan Rum factory is under construction.

There could be a waste to energy plant in STX's future.

Residential has suffered but there is still a bunch of mansion villas being built.

Soon come!

There are no contractors yet. The rum distillery warehouse is being built by J Betton Const.

Search the governors site I think they had the name of the distillery mentioned. It is being built in St. Croix Renaissance park.
