Does anyone have any accurate information on the new restaurant were the old Remininse was?

We heard a 'rumor' that Diane, who owned the South Shore Cafe (one of our favorites) is opening a new place where Remininse was.
We undertand that she will be serving only lunch.

Great spot and we really miss going up to Remininse.

She's opening a small breakfast and lunch cafe in the wellness center. No oven do it will mainly be soups and salads and sandwiches and so on.

She said she's thrilled to finally not be working every night. It was definitely wearing her out!

Southshore Cafe was one of my favorites and Diane is a close personal friend. I won't divulge the name of the new operation yet although it may now be widely known. Jamision might attack me for spreading rumors.

Flat Iron Grill just opened, Haven't tried it yet but the place looks amazing (I sorta know the owner and was in there when he was replacing tile/cleaning up the place)

is near the sunnyisle shopping center.

LiquidFluoride, what are they serving at the flat iron grill? I saw the door was open yesterday, it looked like they were still working on getting it open.

I heard he was shooting for Aug 1, but I saw so many people in there yesterday I thought it was open...

as for the menu, haha, I don't really know; I'll take a ride by there today and see what intel I can gather and post it here.

OK, so I stopped in, there's a bunch of nice people in there helping to open it, the official open date is AUG 2nd.

They will be serving Italian, Southern & Jamaican food (he did not have a menu prepared when I went).

They have a nice seating area and a very nice bar (already stocked, they offered me a drink on the house too.. haha; but I'm in uniform so I had to decline).

I'll give it a shot and I hope they do well (and serve good food!) looks promising.

Thanks for the info LiquidFlouride, hope the prices will be reasonable.
Went to China Jade the other night, we ate in. The prices were super high for Chinese food. Food was just okay.

There isn't a place on STX that serves Chinese food that is edible, regardless of all the claims of exotic worldly chefs that they claim.

So, is the Flat Iron Grille being opened by someone new and not resurrected by the previous owner with the same name?
We used to go there when it was Vinnies and it was really good. We went twice when it was the Flat Iron Grille and then
stopped because the pizza was horrible.

That's a very unusual and challenging diversity. 😀

Reminds me of a restaurant in upstate Nevada I was at one time: Irish. Mexican, and Chinese. Huh.

gonetropo, I agree with you about the Chinese food. I haven't been able to find a good one since we moved here 8 years ago. We decided to go to China Jade because they were advertising a new chef. I ordered chicken chow mien. All chicken chow mien is chicken, celery, onion and bean sprouts. It had no celery just cabbage. I hate that. It changes the flavor all together. Every Chinese restaurant here makes the chicken chow mien with cabbage. I have never had it like that back in the states. I guess celery is more expensive then cabbage. The fried rice was horrible. The wonton soup was not good. The egg roll was half the size you get in the states and cost more.

I will wait until we go back to the states for good Chinese food. The place I go back in Maryland has a combo plate for $7.95 that includes chicken chow mien, fried rice, wonton soup and egg roll. I ordered the same thing at China Jade and it was $19.95. Never paid that much for Chinese food.

speee1dy, when I go back I always visit the silver palace in Forest hill Md. It's right outside of Belair Md. North of Baltimore. The best Chinese food. It's just a little carry out place.
