Last week received a call from FEDEX driver---had package for me. Told him to leave it at my door, as I was at work. He said he couldnt, because he had to collect EXCISE tax. I explained to him the order was tax exempt----military personnel and retirees ordering thru AAFES, on line shopping privalages for military and retirees, he insisted it was subject to excise tax, I asked to speak to his manager.

The phone went quiet.....little basXXXXXX hung up on me.

I checked the tracking of the order, and it had I REFUSED.

I contacted AAFES, and was FLAT OUT told no excise tax charge was applicable----and FEDEX here in the USVI knows this and has been notfied several times before. She emailed me a letter expalining EXCISE tax was not applicable to ANY order thru AAFES---regardless of where it shipped from. She also told me she would contact FEDEX corporate office direct-----AGAIN to discuss St Croix FEDEX trying to collect excise taxes.

Well, went to FEDEX on Monday with letter----didnt need to show it, Nor would FEDEX take a copy of the letter for future references, ie I think they received a call from national FEDEX represenatives concerning my complaint.

Anyone who has issue with FEDEX trying to collect excise tax on AAFES order------call AAFES or send me your email via PM, and I will forward you the letter.
