All public schools are closed due to overnight rainfall. Also Good Hope School announced at 6am that they will be closed as well. I thought some parents may want to know since last time Good Hope couldn't get through to the radio station. Stay safe.

you are welcome. At GH, we were flooded on wed. the parking lot was under water. nightmare driving home. glad they closed today. stx needs a better evacuation plan. we had one in fl/ga after spending 6 hours in deadlock to evacuate from a hurricane in 99. stx cops were arguing in the road about how to direct us. i hope they recognize the problem and implement a plan of action for the future. many accidents and stalled cars could have been prevented. it was frustrating and disappointing.

This reminds me of being a teenager going to school at Good Hope years ago. We had a very rainy period my jr year and I'd wait beside the radio PRAYING they'd announce Good Hope would be closed:D. It felt like Christmas when finally they'd add 'Good Hope'! (I don't know why... I was then stuck up in Queens Quarters with nothing to do for the day--- but at least it wasn't algebra II or marine biology. Both which were giving me fits-- mainly because I couldn't concentrate with all those windows beckoning me with blue green water just outside! Who puts a school right on the beach?!:S8-)
