Hi--
I am a nurse practitioner moving to STT in June. I have been going back and forth about being a traveler vs procuring work on my own. I will be in STT from 4/13-4/16.
Would parrot-head or anyone one else w/ knowledge of the sytem be available to talk in person or by phone? Do you know which traveler co. staffs the fast track at rls?
thanks
deb

Deb: I don't know what you mean by "fast track". I would say that if you are thinking of a travel job, you will be considered a guest on the island. If you really want to stay, you should go for a regular gig. One thing that happens to travelers is that a lot of money is dangled in front of them for 13 weeks or three months. They think, "This is great! I think I'll stay!" So they go to their administrator who tells them the salary that they will be getting (oh, say a 20% decrease or more) and whammo! They are gone. So if you really want to make a long term difference, come down and get a non-travel job....

In contrast to EE's opinion, I would definitely suggest you do a travel assignment before taking anything permanent. Email me at your pleasure.

Deb: I think that PHead and I have different philosophies. PHead came to the VI as a traveler. I did not. However, I did give myself a year to see if I wanted to stay. I stand by my statement that you will be considered as a transient if you are a traveler.

Hi Eastender--
Do you also work for RLS? This is a difficult decision. Thanks for your input
deb
ps I thought "fast track" was for not so serious ER visits.

Deb -I can give you a contact person at RLS who can answer your questions.
