Hi I'm an English nurse with 6 years experience in icu looking at working on one of the islands would be grateful for any information. My boyfriend works in farming would he be able to get a job? Also would we need to be married for him to be able to work? I believe there are jobs in st Thomas and st Croix which would be best?

Hi Sara,

Please forgive me, but this is the United States Virgin Islands, not the British Virgin Islands forum. Did you intend to post here?

If so, I am assuming that you are not a USA citizen, so you'll need proper working visas, employment to be able to work on the USAVI.

If you're not a US citizen, here's a link to the US immigration "bible":

http://www.uscis.gov/

You also need a visa to live and work in the British Virgin Islands even if you're a bona fide UK citizen.

Also check HTTP://WWW.Americantraveler.com.

What type of farming? The farms here are tiny for the most part.

I don't believe this site is of any use to a non US citizen.

The service is for US citizens not foreign citizens.

I would still contact them. You never know who has info you may need until you ask, especially since it doesn't cost anything.

He can't work either without a US visa.
