Hey Everyone!

Well, my flight leaves in the morning and I cannot believe its finally here!! I have been cruising this board for months now and I wanted to thank everyone for all their great advice, especially all the doggie questions (Thanks Onika!! Islander!!)
I am pretty freaked out right now, I am moving there sight unseen! I know I am crazy but hey! Think I got a job at the Ritz, staying with my folks for a while at Point Pleasant.
I will be looking for a long term rental starting about October 1, so if anyone knows of a good 1-2 BR place, prefer East End, please let me know...or if any other relocaters are interested in sharing a house/lg apt I am definately interested.
Also looking for advice on cellular service, I think my parents use Sprint- any comments?
Also need a bank reccomendation, do any of them have websites???
A million other things to sort out, of course, but I guess I will figure it all out sooner or later. Any advice/words of wisdom are definately appreciated.
Scared and excited, this time tomorrow I'll be drinking a beer on the beach!!!

Thank You ALL! -Amy

Congrats Amy, and welcome to STT!!!
Cells: I have Sprint, but the service is pretty bad on the East End...will have to defer to others (East Ender) to recommend better service.
Banks: Banco Popular has on-line service, which I use regularly and is pretty efficient.
Maybe we will run in to you and the pooch on the beach!

Is there good cell service ANYWHERE??? I thought everyone loved Sprint! It seems to me that one is as good as another? I guess you are here now, Amy, so best wishes. You can pick up Thursday's Island Trader at lots of spots in Red Hook- Marina Market and Grateful Deli to name two. Just start looking for places there, on the bulletin boards you will find around, and ask your co-workers at the Ritz. Most housing is found one of thise ways. And moving here sight unseen is not uncommon! Have fun....

IMHO, Centennial has the best coverage. I have also used Cingular and I now have Sprint, and Centennial had a MUCH better signal.

BUT they are not part of a national network, so if you will use the phone on the mainland, the roaming charges add up very quickly. That's why we now use Sprint.
