So sad. Great sale going on until the end of the month.

Very soon, Christiansted is going to be a ghost town. Actually, it already is compared to just a few short years ago..

Rent and WAPA probably the culprits! Sad indeed.

I always check them out when I go to St Croix. Such a shame, but the internet makes it so convenient to buy online that it's hurting local brick and mortar stores.

The VI needs to implement an online sales tax which is gaining traction in the States.

Bratt, I can usually find someone on eBay who will ship what I need. My optical zoom lens for my phone should be in my box now. I'll be checking Macy's sale on Sat for new summer dresses. I mostly buy local, but of I want something specific that I c.an't get on STT, I can usually find on eBay.

Never heard of it.

That might be the bigger culprit, rather than rent or WAPA. I've never heard of them either.

This just blows me away. It's about the only place left on STX where you can buy really good quality womens clothing on STX.

I don't know....maybe they catered to a specific clientele. :S Where exactly in C'sted are they located? And how long have they been in business?

They used to frequently advertise in the Avis, but since I don't have a trip to STX planned until Sep, I have not looked for their ads. Last time I was there, I thought they had too many sweaters and heavy clothes. Maybe someone else will take the spot and focus on lighter clothing.

Road construction and shut down of access to downtown did not help them to survive! Shame on planners of road project to do that during high season!

The government isn't interested in having any viable businesses on STX.

the Hovensa closure is certainly a major factor for many businesses. If your customer base shrinks considerably, your sales numbers likely follow. Losing all those families and their business about a year ago has a significant financial impact, and if a business was struggling before, it could be in crisis now.
