Does anybody in the island have an adapter for this? I want to connect an instrument to my laptop but I do not have an adapter. I checked radioshack and office max and they do not have it.

That is a serial cable, the port on your laptop is VGA-out. What piece of equipment are you using that still uses a serial port? Anyway, you can get an adapater HERE but in my experience it's not always as easy as just using an adapter when it comes to serial ports.

You want a serial to USB adapter you can get one from Office Max.
