Does anyone know what type of pet carrier AA will accept for a medium-sized dog on flights from STX to Miami? How about any companies with online purchasing that will ship pet carriers to STX? Thank you for any help/advice you can give - I am trying to relocate with my cruzan mutt off STX in late April.

Don't be so sure about what you read. My friend is moving off-island. I gave them my dog carrier to take their Cruzan hound back with them. AA said that the carrier was too big and would not fit on a 737. That's funny... It sure did fit when I flew down here with my dog on an AA 737. Guess it must have been another AA...

Best to take the carrier to the airport and have them check it out BEFORE flight day. Also don't forget medical certificate & vac's.

Safe travels to you & your 4 leggers....

AA is enforcing their 100lb limit on StX because AA on StX technically isnt a cargo handler. Seaborne will take big dogs but my dog's carrier wouldn't fit thru their cargo door, so they made me walk out and hold my dog while they disassembled then reassembled the crate inside the hold. You then gotta take a taxi in the PR to the AA cargo facility to get your dog on an AA plane.

rapponqi,
How large is your dog? Most island "mutts" aren't anywhere near 100 lbs. Medium, as you said, are easier...much, much easier. Just go to the website of the airline and locate the link to their flying with pets rules and regs.
