*Do pets brought in from the US have to be placed in quarantine? If so, for how long? Thanks for your help. Vickie Franks

Here is the information we have on pets.

There is no quarantine for cats/dogs from the US mainland to the USVI.

Your pet must have up to date documents from a veterinarian stating that the animal has had the appropriate vaccines

Many people transport there cats and dogs as carry-ons in animal cages/boxes - however regulations differ depending on airline - so you should call the carrier you plan to fly with and inquire as to their policies on carrying animals on board. Also ask the airline if there are any embargos on carrying the animal you want to bring with you.

The islands are pet friendly. Depending on where it is you traveling from - it may be hot for your pet but they will get adjusted. The biggest threat to your pet being outside is the chance of being hit by vehicles.

PS. If you are moving here with a pet, Onika on this board also did the same several months ago, and might have suggestions.
