Hello all,

I am considering Adopting a dog but the one thing holding me back is the fact that I'll be going to the states for a few days over Thanksgiving. In NY I would board my dog at the vet's office or a "doggie hotel". Is there anywhere down here that offers something like that?

You can board pets on STX too.

A pet sitter is always a great option. The care is alot more personalized, no worries about fleas and ticks and your dog isn't "locked up" for 23 hours of the day. There is a pet sitter on Stx with great experience (dcruz218), she is on this board as well. Pm me for details.

The lease was signed today on this -- Dr. Laura is moving her vet clinic to a new location and will be adding a boarding facility. The plan is for it to be open by Thanksgiving. Otherwise, you will probably want to get a pet-sitter. If you don't have any friends you trust to do this by November, make new friends. 😉 Just kidding -- I think there are a couple of folks who do this professionally; ask at the clinic and they will give you some names.
