*Your information regarding traveling with pets is fairly general. What type of certificate do I need to bring in a dog?

Thanks.

You will need a basic health certificate that states your pet is in good health and you will need a shot record with it's shots up to date. Just ask the airlines as their travel requirements are usually the same. I have also heard that you will probably not even be checked at the airport when you arrive to the USVI.
have a great day,

There is no quarantine for cats/dogs from the US mainland to the USVI.

Your pet must have up to date documents from a veterinarian stating that the animal has had the appropriate vaccines

Many people transport there cats and dogs as carry-ons in animal cages/boxes - however regulations differ depending on airline - so you should call the carrier you plan to fly with and inquire as to their policies on carrying animals on board. Also ask the airline if there are any embargos on carrying the animal you want to bring with you.

---- You need to have documents from your vet that state that your dog has had all its appropriate vaccines. Doesn't mean you will be asked for it - you might not, HOWEVER if you are asked for it - you need to have it.----

Pretty much, have the documents mentioned in this thread (from the vet). You should call your airline and find out if they allow 50 pound dogs in teh cabin. I know they allow little dogs and cats in carriers. Bigger animals have to be in cargo. Look in more recent post about animals... there is a post from Onika talking about her traveling to the USVI with her big dog.

Don't know what the quarantine is for pets coming from the USVI back to the mainland, if there is any - that you would have to find out.
