hello all
I will be on stt for about 5 days and plan to go to st john and snorkel and just laze around and enjoy the scenery. I have t-mobile phone service and my friend has cingular. Will we be able to use our phones to keep in touch when we seperate.
I have seen no mention on t-mobile service

Friends who came to visit had T-mobile and were able to use their phones. I think they roamed into another carrier, though.
Cingular should work- we have Cingular down here.

I would call TMobile to see if the islands will be included in your nationwide plan. Typically they are not and it will cost you a fortune in roaming charges. I used to have Verizon and thats what happened to me on my house hunting trip, MAJOR roaming charges. Although I did give them call when I got the bill and said wait I have Free roaming nationwide and coverage that covers ALL of the US and the Virigin Islands are US islands. They gave me a credit without too much hassle.
Cingular and Sprint are the two major ones that include the VI in their nationwide calling plans so your buddy should be all set.
