Does anyone know of any Planned Parenthood or low-cost/free women's OBGYN services on St Thomas or St John?

I am a teacher looking for resources for a student ---- testing, low-cost birth control, counseling, etc.?

Thank you so much.

Check with Families and Women's Center. Also the health department.

On St. John, you can go to the health department, Morris de Castro Clinic right in town. Fran is the midwife there and she is very nice. They will be the least expensive. There is also Women's Health at the Myra Keating Clinic near Gifft Hill on Centerline Road. They are more expensive, but they work with you on costs for services. I am not sure if either place will have reduced prices for prescriptions, but I am pretty sure Myra Keating does not offer anything like that. No Planned Parenthood, but I think we could certainly use one!

I did some research 5-6 years back, and as of that time there was NO place to obtain an abortion in the VI. You had to fly to PR or the States.

Just FYI.

It sounds like this person might be eligible for Medicaid, WIC, etc. It's worth looking into in order to give this baby a good start in life.

You can contact Family Planning at 774-5256. Located across from the Nisky Center on the highway in Contant. They have a midwife/nurse practitioner, and doctor(at certain times). They provide counseling, birth control(various forms), pregnancy testing, STD/infection testing, etc. I would say their services are as close to Planned Parenthood as you can get here on island.
I believe it is low cost and they accept Medicaid - 774-3325 - Hospital Ground.

At the RLS hospital, there is the Community Health Clinic-2nd floor. 774-7477, ask for the Woman's Clinic. An OB/GYN is available, along with nurses that assist him. They accept Medicaid and cash payments. Don't know if it is low cost. Prices are set by the hospital, I believe.
