On STT you need to appear in person with various forms ID and proof of residence (deed or lease), and only then will you be permitted to rent a box, if there is one available.

You will have to be there in person to get a usps po box. Ask your landlord if you can send stuff to them until you're on island and can set up a po box.

It may be easier to sign up at one of the mail services for the 1st few months and you can likely do that from off island - I don't know STX at all anymore so one of our STX posters might be able to suggest a mail service over there. There are many here on STT.

I only know of one mail service on STX. That's Mail Boxes and More 340-719-5131. They are mid-island, so not very convenient for out east. There may be others. http://www.viphonebook.com

Just be warned you may not want to keep Mail boxes etc if you live in Tipperary. Mail boxes is located in Sunny Isles, so unless you work close to sunny Isles its a pain going there.

you might try A Better Copy in Christiansted. I know they receive packages and mail for people...they might be able to "hold" it until you come down...not sure of the price, though. 340.692.5303.
