We are in the process of buying a home and we are thinking about having a pool put in. Can anyone give me some advise on contractors to use or stay away from? Any advise would be helpful. Very little dirt has to be excavated due to the lay of the land. I have talked to one person and gotten a rough quote of $38000.00 for a 15 x 20 pool with diamond bright and all hard ware. Seems a little high to me. Thanks in advance.

Actually, that sounds about right as most pools are a solid concrete pour and that is time consuming and expensive. Unless you ant a hole filled with sand and liner in place, and then in might be less, but still that sounds about right for a concrete pool.

Sounds like a good quote - I am planning on $50,000 for a pool about that size but I am on STJ. Would love for it to be less but better to plan high than low.

My husband is in the pool business in MA and that figure is comparable to the costs of pool construction stateside. I'd say you are getting a bargain at that price considering how most things are greater costs in the islands.

Thanks for all of your replies. Good to know that the price seems fair. Donefarming who did you use and were you happy with the outcome.
