The VIPA board voted to terminate Carlton Dowe and he has been replaced with -- David Mapp -- brother to the Governor.
Popcorn anyone?

VI nepotism at its best.

I'm scratching my head on this one a little bit. Any talk about WHY he was terminated. All I've seen is how much 'good' he's done.

Mapp wants complete control of all boards.
His sister in law was just appointed to the WICO Board, I believe he has also appointed himself to the WICO board also while being chairman of the
the finance board that controls WICO.

Every single relative (and crony) of Mapp has been hired to fill government positions in his fiefdom.

So where are our senators and Attorney General with all this rampant nepotism?

Dowe may have also been considering a run for governor in the next gubernatorial election.

just business as usual in the VI. I too was wondering why, now that i know he appointed his brother to the position, it makes sense.

smh

Control over the boards controls the money flow and contract awards.

Mapp the Younger has been in the Assistant Director position at Port Authority for a while; he's the one we had to deal with rather than Dowe when trying to get anything done at the port. Mapp moving up actually gives us hope that the next guy in line will actually DO the job. Not holding my breath.

Removing without cause is going to cost.

I've dealt with Mapp many times. I'm not optimistic at all with him over the port. He has lied to my face in the past. Nepotism and cronyism at it's best. Two Mapps in charge? thieving times two.

Another step closer to having the Federal Government take over running the Territory like they are doing in Puerto Rico
