Hi, My wife and I are moving down soon. I was wondering, is it possible to get a post office box on st thomas without being there yet? seems like it would be handy to have a place to have a few things shipped to before we actually arrive. thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure you have to show up, in person. They want ID and some proof of where you live. You can, however, probably work out something with one of the private mail services. Depends on where you will be living, but I like Red Hook Mail Services. Very nice people, and a lot of people on the east end use them as their mailbox. Don't have the number handy, but check http://www.viphonebook.com .
