Headline: Power Outage at East End of St. Thomas, WAPA Crew Working to Restore Electric Service

WAPA Line Department crews are attempting to restore electric service to about 4,100 customers on the east end of St. Thomas following an automobile accident on Cassi Hill which brought down some primary electric cables. The downing of the power lines resulted in a loss of service at the power substation near the VING Armory which also took three feeders: Ridge Road, 7D and 9D out of service. The areas affected include the National Park to Cabrita Point, the VING armory to Nadir and the area from the top of Cassi Hill to Red Hook.

Restoration time is currently estimated at under an hour.
