We have just purchased a home on St. Croix and are looking for a reliable property management person/company? Any recommendations from current renters or property owners that are off-island and using a property management company on St. Croix?

What sort of services are you looking for and were is the home located?  Property management is a broad term.  It can cover everything from looking after a home that is never rented when the owners are off island to full time management of a rental property.

We will eventually be placing the property in the rental pool, but for the time being we're looking for someone who can do regular "wellness" checks, arrange to let contractors in when necessary (we're replacing windows), arrange for a deep cleaning in the house, arrange to have a plumber come in and check the cistern and water quality from the filtration system.

What area of the island is the house located in?

Did you purchase it through a real estate agent? If so, you could check with them (if you like them) to see if they provide the short term access needs you described while the renovations are going on.

It sounds like you bought it as an investment property - is your target market short term (home away, VRBO, vacation, etc.) or long term (refinery/construction or professionals) rentals?

As on the mainland, many property managers specialize in short or long term rentals. Finding one closer to the home will make it easier for them to get to and may be more cost effective than choosing one on the other end of the island...

Services they offer will also vary (airport pickup, yard/pool maintenance, etc.). Search the forum for 'property manager' and you should find a couple of threads with recommendations and names.

Best of luck!
