My husband and I are looking at purchasing a condo in St. Thomas and renting it out as a short term vacation rental. I noticed the thumbs up on the rental idea in St. Croix, how about St. Thomas? Are most condo assoc. open to short term rental use? How easy is it to come by products needed to "re-hab" a unit if it "needs work"?

Sheela: You'll need to check with the condo association. Some allow owners to do just about anything, others have more strict rules about short term rentals- a single centralized management company for example, no individual rentals.
