I may possibly get a job offer to work there. My spouse will not have a job. How difficult is it to find work for an African American. Are there jobs not based in tourism?

Would you live in St Thomas or St Croix? I may have a choice. How soon would you try to buy something to live in.

About 90% of St. Thomas' economy is based on tourism. If you're looking for something outside of that field, St. Croix might be a better bet. There's more industry over there. As for being an African American, I wouldn't worry about it. I haven't heard of anyone having trouble due to race.
