My boyfriend, my son and I have plans of relocating to St. John or St. Thomas in the next six months. We have
been talking about moving there for years now and I thought that it may be hard to find employment there. We
are both full time bartenders in Pittsburgh. Is it hard to find bartending jobs on either island? Also what is the
schooling like for children? Any suggestions on where to send my tweleve year old to school?

Good luck with your move. My husband and I are planning a move in next year. Search old post I have found a LOT of information. You will find that there are a lot of people willing to give advice, most of it is well intentioned and know what they are talking about. Just remember that you are the only one who knows whats best for your family. The general consensus that I have found is that most people won't hire you off island, but if you are willing to work there are jobs there. Here is a link to a local newspaper www.virginislandsdailynews.com If you look in the supplements section you will see the Island Trader. There are postings in there to give you an idea of whats available. From what I have heard St. John is the most expensive and there are less jobs there. Anyway just to give you a heads up I am a newbie who hasn't been to the Islands I have just done research at home. I would not want to misrepresent myself 🙂 Again good luck hope I have helped a little.
