Just after 7:00 AM: There's a large group of people standing on the west tip of Buck and several law enforcement boats swarming off the point. Anyone hear anything about a possbile people smuggling incident?

lol. That was our bit of excitement for the morning. We were on the roof looking through the binoculars. Too bad it is starting to rain.

Right after my first post I went back out on the deck to watch. I then heard something moving quickly through the bush just below. Two "beings" breathing heavily. I immediately pictured a couple of boat people running from the law. I shouted and the noises stopped. I called 911 to see if there was an Immigration incident and they said no. It's a swim. It must've been a couple of dogs I heard.

What a way to jump start your day!

Auunal event - The Coral Reef, Buck Island to Buccaneer 5 mile swim. Great event. It's fun to go to the Mermaid Beach at the Buccaneer and watch the swimmers come in. Several Olympians participate every year.

like to watch the swim....they look like itty bitty fish out in the water. and the boats their guardian angels. admire those people who swim and those who help
