Good Morning - I am purchasing a new diving mask and thought about fins. What is most common in USVI, fins with or with out booties? Is it better to travel with fins or easy/inexpensive to rent or buy used fins upon arrival? Thanks! Michelle

The nice thing about booties (high top) is that you can walk across any kind of surface or rocks.

Id recommend the booties...they were recommended to me and they have been worth it especially when you decide to take off the fins and accidentally walk on a few tiny sea urchins living on the rock in the surf. Id go with a inexpensive pair at first for snorkeling and upgrade once settled and wanting to dive on a regular basis....the better mask is worth more than the best fins.
