Hello everyone!
I wanted to know if anyone could tell me how to go about selling my art work! Can I just set up a booth on the beach or in town? Do I need a permit? Is it better to work out of a gallery? My target audience are the rich tourists so I'm thinking of cheap things I can bring from the states and that are easy for the tourist to take home. Any ideas or tips from experienced vendors I would greatly appreciate!!
Thanks, have a beautiful day!!!!
Elise

Elise,

There are many different avenues that you might pursue regarding art. Check www.viphonebook.com

You might want to look at www.gallerystthomas.com and perhaps contact Claire. She runs a great gallery. You will not be able to just set up on a beach or on the street, so networking will be a good idea! Good luck.

Hello Elise,

As mentioned you can't just set up wherever. You might think about selling your wares through a distributor that supplies the souvenir shops or you can contact stores yourself and see if they are interested - wholesale directly. As East Ender mentioned networking is necessary to get in there. Definately a good idea to check out whats already available.

You should contact Mango Tango - they're a nice gallery here on the island. The owners name is Jane and she's always looking for new artist to represent. I don't know the number, but it's on STT.
