sewer problems in St.Croix

Hello!
For those living in St. Croix I am wondering about the sewer leak I read about in the St. Croix newspaper. I am planning on arriving Saturday night to stay for 4 days and I am wondering how this will effect my visit. Is this as big of a deal as it sounds? I heard they cancelled a cruise ship that was going to dock on Saturday. Also, I was planning on staying at Carambola resort. I read that the sewer problem was on the Fredrickstead pier and in that area. Should I avoid the pier for this visit? Should we try to change our reservation? Please advise.
Looking forward to warm weather:)
Sandra

Hi, just got back from eight days in Christianstad. Didn't see any sign of sewer problems. I know they had a lot of rain a while back, and that may have contributed to the problems in Fredrickstad. Anyway, all was great and beautiful. Enjoy your stay!!

Yes.. there was a major raw sewage discharge due to a pump failure near Fstad. FOR OVER TWO WEEKS... However when the Governor Turnbuull left the islands..without doing anything.. the LT governor stepped in and told the public utilities guys to get off their lazy butts and fix the pump. It was running in two days...

Seems like we need a new governor....

things are good now...(from a sewage point of view)

I also read where they passed a large bond election to repair and improve the sewage problems. Hope they do a good job.
