Just dropping a note to share with others some experiences I have had recently as we renovate our kitchen. Not sure if this violates any rules b/c they are based on my personal experiences, but I am sure Islander will edit and s/he sees fit. 😉

Caribtrans--They are my heroes. They are a freight forwarder in Miami and have been exceptionally efficient about receiving and shipping my cargo to STT from Miami. They also do pick-ups if you have a retailer who does not ship to their location in Miami.

Appliances Expo on STT- Their prices are all over the map but they are fast and you can special order from them. We ended up buying our cooktop from them at a surprisingly low price.

Home Depot--I am STILL waiting on "the ship" to come in with my washing machine and dryer, but if you want to know the people to talk to in appliances, look for Jason or Shurna.

Ebay--I bought several large items from retailers in Ebay. Look for high feedback and a long history of sales. If you do that, you can benefit from some awesome deals. For small items that can be delivered by USPS (under 50 lbs and a certain size) you may have to educate sellers, but it can be very economical.

Ok, that's it for now. I thought some of you might appreciate this info, b/c I know I would. Have a great weekend!
