I am leaving island at the end of August and I and I will be shipping my car. Has anyone on this board had this experience? I was wondering approximately how long it would take and how much it would cost to ship a 3000lb., american made car one-way to Florida from STT? What's the best company to use? I heard Tropical and Crowley were the only companies that will ship cars back to the mainland. And also, are there any duty or taxes charged for shipping a USA made car to Florida? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Shipping a car to FLA should run you about $1000.

IMO, I would sell that car here rather than ship it back. Whatever car it is would probably fetch you more than a grand extra down here. The resale market is better here than it is in the US.
