Hi
Just wondering if anyone knew approx. how much it would cost to ship a SUV to St Thomas from the east coast of the US...the New Jersey/New York area?
Is it much smarter to ship our own car down or get one when we get there?
Thanks
Grant

Hey Grant,

I just priced shipping a car from Toronto...the Quote was around $5000.00or Approx$3600.00USD.-F.Y.I it could takes weeks to arrive as well.
Depends on how long you are staying in St Thomas , if it is worth while or not .
Good Luck

If you take the auto train to Orlando FL about $300.00 , then drive the 200 mi to Miami you can have the car shipped for $1.25 per cubic foot to St. Thomas through Tropical shipping.

www.tropical.com

You will have to purchase shipping insurance as well.

If you are not in St Thomas to accept the car you will have to pay someone to prepare the documents, and accept the car.

Upon entering St. Thomas you will have to pay import duty which is 6% I believe. Maybe someone can coroborate this price.
