Are there any establishments on STX similar to Villa Fairview on STT? I did a search for short-term rentals and pretty came up empty-handed (STX)!

When are you coming down, and how big a place do you need. I have two 1 bedroom condos that are sometimes available. You can also try danieljude?, he has a couple places he rents for pmv's.

No, there is not anything quite like Villa Fairview on St Croix. There are a few places (mentioned above) that offer a clean safe place to stay short term. but ronnie & villa fairview on St Thomas are somewhat unique (actually there are a couple more on stt that are in the same class). I think that someone willing to work could fill this niche in Csted. The key is good pricing, and a personal touch. Most b&b type places want the tourist business so they tend to price higher and are more remote (not walking distance). I'm sure others can tell you of possibilities around the island. But there is no villa fairview.

You are right there are not many reliable and economical places on stx to stay.

Here are a couple of older websites that list small inns and b&bs. See what you can find out and come back to tell us what you find.

Closet I can think of is Cottages by the Sea www.caribbeancottages.com There are a couple of small hotels like Pink Fancy or Villa Morales that might give you a good deal as it is summer, you can always try to get a deal by telling them you won't use a/c or that you are relocating. You've got to call these places and talk to them. If you leave a message and they dont call you back, call them again, its just the way it is. Be a little pushy, BUT nice. Never hurts to ask. If you can get someone to talk to you long enough you should be able to get a deal somewhere, long as the latest Hovensa push hasn't booked everything.
