Social Security Medicare in STX

Hello,

I am trying to learn if the Medical Centers and Hospitals in STX use the same Medicare System, as in the States.
I read there is no Medicaid or SSI, but cannot find anything about Social Security Medicare.
I live on Social Security Disability and have Medicare.
If I make the move down, I need to learn if this will work for me on the Island.
Also, can anyone recommend a good Pain Management Doctor on the Island, if any.
Any input you could give me, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Dave

Dave,
The Hosp's take Medicare, same as the States, Same System. Most of the Doctors will accept Medicare as well and take the assignment. The Pharm is the same. Can't help you on the pain Managment Doctors maybe someone else on the forum can help.

Thanks so much for the info.
This will help me in my decision making about my move down.
I pretty much have a good handle on everything else I need to know, everyone on here is so helpful with details on Island living.
I think I will fit right in.
