*Is there an active component of VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) in the VI? Or some other way to arrange time there to do community service? I just spent a week in St Croix and would love to come back and contribute several months in my professional field, if there is a need for Early Childhood Special Education Teachers/Early Interventionists to work with families who have infants, toddlers or preschoolers with special needs...or to inform other teaching professionals re: techniques for working with Pre-K children who have special needs.

Hello Koelle,

I don't know of a VISTA program however you might contact the Dept. Of Education for leads to information on special education teaching positions or volunteer programs.
