Spinal Cord Injury resources in STX?

Good afternoon, everyone --

I'm wondering if any of you on the board have information regarding resources for people with spinal cord injuries on STX?
Specifically, I'm looking for:

- contractors familiar with remodeling bathrooms for accessibility OR accessible apartments for rent
- online medical equipment vendors that ship to the VI
- support group (or hey, even one other person on the island with a spinal cord injury or paraplegia!?)

Also, if anyone has experience with the VA in STX, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks in advance!

Julie

maybe Dr. Babu's office could help you. He is a neuroligist.

You might also try the various PT practices- not completely familiar with them on St Croix, but I know there are a few. WIth HIPAA rules, they won't be able to give you names, but they might be willing to sponsor a support group. Doctor's Choice Medical is a DME provider that can get equipment territory-wide.

In the last ten years, I have written more motions to exclude Babu's testimony from litigation proceedings on grounds of poor methodology than I can possibly recall. I am not impressed with his work.

Maybe Weisher on STT?
