Here is the St. Croix Avis Subscription Form:

People occasionally ask whether they can get a mail subscription to the Avis, and how much it costs, so I uploaded it.

As indicated on the form, the rates are as follows, and I don't think they have changed in years:

Off Island Rates:
1 year: $172.00
6 months: $86.00
3 months: $57.00
1 month: $19.00

Local Rates:
1 year: $95.00
6 months: $47.50
3 months: $32.00
1 month: $10.66

They take checks or money orders, NO credit cards. You can also call the Avis with questions at 340-718-2300.

At one time I had calculated the postage for mailing the paper, and it came out to just about what the subscription cost was. You basically were getting the paper for free, just paying for it being sent. A week's worth is sent out on Thursday or Fridays with that Thursday's paper back to the previous Friday, and sometimes we received it Saturday, sometimes Mon or Tues, and sometimes three weeks later or not at all.

Presumably Beachy is referring to an off-island subscription.

I get the Avis by mail on St. Croix (via the Richmond PO), and the paper always arrives the same day, except for
- The Sun-Mon edition, which arrives on Monday
- Holidays when there is no mail delivery
- When the mail carrier puts it in the wrong box (not frequently).

Does anybody get the Avis by mail on STT/STJ, and if so, does it arrive the same day?
