Because the "victims" are being treated there.

Now Woodrupp is being airlifted out so who is paying for that?! Also no mention of his criminal past.

Fly him out. Get him healthy. Bring him back. Around and round we go.

My thoughts and concerns are for the hospital staff that has the added pressure of having to work in a stressful, potentially dangerous environment because they are doing their job by saving them. Sigh.

They should be accustomed to those conditions by now.

The callous disregard for life is kinda shocking. No matter someone's history or past it is still someone's son, father, brother, dad. Maybe he will talk hence the added security.

Callous disregard for anyone's life is how they live.

If their families cared so much for them, they'd turn them in, rather than have them die in shootouts, taking innocent lives along the way.
It's not callous to want justice, safety and peace and not have to wonder if you'll end up as a victim because you're in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I do not ever worry about that. Literally ever. Justice? What is justice? Punitive reprisal? Elimination? The justice system is broken throughout America, to say the VI is different is not true. This all goes back to a multi trillion dollar failed war on drugs. Gangs have little reason for existence without the illicit drug trade. How much more money should we as a nation pour into building more prisons, hiring more DEA agents, and police to take guys selling dimebags off the street?

Don't think we're talking about selling dime bags here.
Can't say I think much good would come about of legalizing cocaine heroine, crack, meth, ruffies, exstasy and the plethora of other harmful substances.

Because so much good has come from their ban? Just like how effective gun bans have been?

Trust me. You don't know these people; I do. If drugs were legalized, they would find another way to terrorize the community (extortion of businesses, robbing, etc.). A hard day's work is considered "soft," "punky," and uncool. They don't kill because of the drugs. They kill because they were taught to be violent from a very young age.

The mafia ran rackets, extortion, protection money, gambling for years. The killing started in earnest with the illicit drug trade.

Gangs exist because of criminal enterprise. Mostly drugs. You think the coke seized at UVIs marine science mooring last week would not have ended up in gang hands?

It would have magically diluted into the air, only to reappear at the nostrils of users. Seems legit.

glad he is being moved off island-at least this time we will not have someone go into the hospital with weapons and kill someone in their hospital bed, putting hundreds of other lives at risk
