St. Croix walking / Bike tour

I wish to thank all who responded to my inquiry of living in Frederiksted. This does not seem to much different than the crak-infested areas of the mainland. Please correct me if wrong. Does anyone have a bit of advise concerning a walking/ bike tour of St. Croix. I know of Mt Victory camp and this is a destination. Would I have encounters that would prove dangerous? I have previously spent extended time on St. Thomas and St. John and would like to experience the area with a different approach. Does anyone have advise or ideas? Thanks!
