St. Thomas - Need Temp Mooring

Hi Guys,

I am in need of a temporary mooring ball for about 2 weeks (first to middle part of November) in or around Red Hook. I am transferring a boat to STT and need a place to hold it until the management company takes over. Willing to pay a fair rental amount. Also would consider buying one if someone wanted to sell.

Thanks, L

You can drop an anchor or two ------only for 2 weeks? why rely on a mooring?

I was thinking the same thing. Not like it's Christmas winds or anything in Vessup Harbor.

Thanks EZ and J. That is the current plan, but if there was a ball open, it just makes life easier as we need to do some upgrades and mgt. company will be doing a final survey and provisioning, etc. Might need to move the boat a few times and a single location would be ideal.

Regards, L

PS. If there was a ball for sale, that would be strongly considered as we like to keep our options open for the future.

Lucy: I don't believe that moorings are transferable. You might check with DPNR to be sure.

EE: You are correct. I got a copy of the mooring applic. and it is specific to the owner and vessel. I states no renting or transfer permitted either. I've been trying to contact Vessup Point Marina and also Latitude 18. The only number I have is 340-777-4552. It answers and then there is static and then silence. Does anyone have any other contact info?

Thanks, L

Perhaps the local phone book would be useful? An online copy can be found here: viphonebook.com

That is the number for Latitude 18, but sometimes Innovative doesn't cooperate. Maybe contact American Yacht Harbor? 775-6454. Another idea is the Charter Yacht League 774-3944 for ideas about borrowing a mooring from one of their members.
