Hello everyone. I have looked at tons of STT websites and have not noticed to many bars. I did see the Fungi which looks like an amazing place to have some fun. Are there many bars like this one on STT? I like how it is right on the beach and seems to be very low key. Are there alot of places that have live music. If so, like reegae, jazz, drums, etc? My boyfriend and I are planning to move there and was just wondering what the music scene was like. Not that I know anything about this place but the Fungi seems like our kind of bar from the looks of it.

I'm surprised no one has responded to this post yet, so I'll offer my lame response because I have not yet been to Fungi.

First of all, there are TONS of bars on STT. You can find where all the live music is and on which nights in the Island Trader which is a free publication that comes out on Thursdays. It's also online http://83.138.169.18/Openpagesuite.aspx?pubid=115

I enjoy 2 Blue Shoes at Betsy's on Fridays from 7-10pm.

Wednesdays is Carnival Night at Iggie's at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. They have interesting entertainers and vendors as well as steel pan which I LOVE!

Saturdays at Tavern on the Waterfront has live jazz. I haven't been on a Saturday, but I heard it's good.

and there's sooo much more. I don't know where live reggae is, but I would love to find out!

Thank you so much Jen for responding. Finally someone did. Is Sreel Pan a band?

Hey Amy,

Steel pan is a type of music played in the Caribbean. It's great!

Keep in touch and let us know which bars you enjoy when you get here!

Jen

Latitude 18 is also a local hot spot!
Oh, and we can't forget to mention Duffy's Love Shack! 🙂 (though that might not be the type of music or scene that you are interested in)
