Friends moved to STX last week. Their fire engine red 1962 Chevy pick up arrived yesterday. They took it to motor vehicles (after lunch) where it took all of 20 minute for inspection, new title, registration, ane plates. (tu)

I think that certainly qualifies for a record. I feel like they've been getting their stuff together. All of these new transplants won't ever get to experience "the way it was"!

That is quick, I always shoot for the end of the first week or second week of the month for inspections, hardly anyone is there because the people who stickers expired the previous month and forgot, flood in the first week of new month and people who have the current month's inspection sticker usually wait until the last week of the month. My observations now span 3 years and with fairly consistent results.

And don't forget them closing up for a day and a half (without notice) for paint fumes! Apparently just opening the windows didn't cut it?! It took my husband three visits and me two visits just to get our licenses. It boggles my mind that there's only one person who does that for the whole island! Oh well... I look at it as just another way for me to learn patience. =)

Your sticker doesn't expire on the last day of the month. Check your registration for the actual date. I don't know a single soul it's ever been a problem for, I'm just saying..

We got both our cars inspected & registered pretty easily at the end of April - on the 28th & 29th. Less than an hour for each trip. Same for our licenses. After preparing for the worst, we were very pleasantly surprised!!

In April we transferred the ownership from my neighbor to me. It took less than an hour however we didn't have to get inspection.
The place was about half full.
Funny though, I only had one copy of my insurance paper. They wanted to keep it. I asked if they would make a copy and I would pay for it. The lady that was helping me asked the lady next to her, "do we have a copy machine?", the lady said no. Can't see how they can run a place without a copy machine. LOL
