It was really good...the first batch you get corn on the cob and cole slaw with the crab....after that just crab legs....kinda wish they sent out more corn with each batch.

Went to Mahi's @ Chenay Bay on Saturday night. I had the Maryland crab soup, which I have to say being originally from MD. it was fantastic.Jack got the recipe from his Mom. Wow was it good. Nice & spicy. Also had the Mahi fish strips, they were also very good.
Kurt Schindler was the entertainment for the night, what a great venue for music.

A bunch of Marylander's here! I grew up in PG county, went to Salisbury for college and even spent some time working for Frank Perdue...about as Eastern Shore as you can get 🙂 Glad to hear Mahi's has some good MD crab soup, now if they could just get some bushels of blue's! I'm in DC for a few weeks and will have to take time away from newborn duties to get some AYCE crabs, even if it's just at the Quarterdeck nearby.

Just left Sharkeys after a BAD minority experience. Hockey vs Basketball.....We came in at 8:15 and neither games were on any tv's. We have been watching the Red Wings all during their Stanley Cup finals at Sharkeys and have had great experience while Izzy was there. I love Izzy... but pony tail b%$*h was in charge of tv's and when we asked for the hockey game she came out and got the basketball game on all tvs but one in the side of the dining area. While the 2nd period was on she came out and changed it to basketball. We walked up to her and said we were watching hockey on that. She said it needed to have b'ball....so we told her to change another tv that was facing the dining room in the middle of the bar. She said she needed to change that to B ball as welll. Well, after having three beers, we went up to the bar and paid up and left. Sorry Izzy, but ms ponytail has a side of her that needs to take pointers that a paying customer should not be cordoned off....especially after the last few nights spending what we did.

Sorry but we will not be back. Bad minority experience....

That sucks about your hockey experience, I've never had a problem at Sharkey's and Izzy is generally very cool if sometimes a bit overworked/stressed. Not sure who Ms. Ponytail is. At least it was on NBC so you could watch it on any TV set with basic service. Maybe you could go in, ask to talk to a manager, say "look, we like to come here but we were treated horribly last night by so and so." If you have receipts from what you spent watching hockey the last few nights you could bring them in. Sharkey's is ADVERTISING that they will be carrying NHL playoffs on their signs so they should be able to spare one TV. Frustrating but Sharkey's really is our only sports bar on island so better to figure out a solution than walk away if you like sports bars.

I hate that their specials (burger night at least) isn't available for take out. They raised their prices so high on their steak salad that I went from eating there 2 times a week to maybe once a month. Still, glad to have them on island.

I just wish Izzy was there. He wouldn't have changed the tv channel before looking around the area to find if someone was watching. Then, if he accidentally changed it while someone was, he would have immediately turned around and changed it back. She asked the table just under the tv and they weren't watching it so thats why she changed it. When hubby ran over and said we were, she said it had to be on. We turned around and faced the bar and looked at the tv with cnn and told her we could watch that tv. She said no, it would need to have b ball on as well. But never came over to change it to anything...so we left. She's the one with that tattoo on her lower back

Sean try the steak salad at Breezes with the piggy sauce.....mmmm No sports there but much better food. Service is about the same as sharkys, not always the greatest.

Woohoo....today is cheap steak day at Traceys....always look forward to Wednesday's lunch!

Well...maybe a little more then del sol, but I like it better. $15 for a large steak, loaded baked potato, and good size side salad. And the steak is really good, and you know its really hard to find a restaurant that has a baked potato here for some reason. So it just comfort food but I really like Tracey's. Most of the food is really cheap, sandwiches are around $7 and up and they always have specials. But the ranch dressing is what's addicting. Like the Misto dressing on the Misto salad from Tuto Benne.

Betty,
Is Tracey's open for dinner? If so is steak day only on Wednesdays? Is it only available for lunch?
I love trying new restaurants.
Anyone try the deal at Elizabeth's on Wed. & Sat. Buy 1 entree get 1 1/2 price?

I don't think they have the sweet potato but I'm pretty sure they have catfish sometimes on special. Have you been to southshore cafe? She makes a sweet potato ravioli with almond butter that is insane. I know its not the same but its so good. 🙂 Its not always on the menu but if you call ahead she'll make it.

Tracey's is only open for breakfast and lunch. Good southern dinner food, they even have sweet tea! Ever since Elizabeths moved to Hibicus it went way way down the tube. It used to be as good as Bacchus, Savant, Kendricks, etc... But now the food is horrible, not average, horrible. Always been curious how it went so bad so quick.

The restaurant at Coakley Condos, I always forget the name, Italian restaurant used to have buy one entree and get one free on Thursday. Also I think the 19th hole has their Italian buffet tonight, but after eating steak for lunch I can't even think about eating again.

Lori's 19th Hole restaurant has Italian Buffet (delicious) every Wednesday for $20. It is located at Carambola Golf Course. The antipasto station is sooo gooood I tend to not save enough room for the entrees. Check out her home made cheese bread! Fabulous!

Since consistency is a problem on island, and good pizza is hard to find here, I thought I'd mention that I had pizza and beer at Smuggler's Cove AGAIN last night, and it was once again very good. =Fresh made dough= yum.

Seems like they bring in more bands than many places do, and the guys last night were really good. Every time I've been there it's been friendly, clean and comfortable with good service. It's a place you often see parents with their kids, but also a good bar crowd. It's in Mill Harbor and you can walk out of the bar and onto the beach.

The restaurant at Coakley Bay Condos is The Cultured Pelican. They are closed for the summer but have always had the buy one get one free on Thursdays. Always good food and the calzones are fantastic. I think they open again in Sept or Oct.

Speaking of Lori's, anyone hearing anything about what's going to happen with her old space at The Reef?

There has been some activity at the former Lori's Deli/store. The word is that it is leased and will be open soon after some business issues and remodeling are completed. Soon come.

Maybe the Cultured Pelican? They have great homemade tortellini, go there often on Thursday's.

Thanks for the heads up on Breezes and Tracey's, will have to check them out!

Yep its cultured pelican, I don't know why I can never remember after all these years. I always forget about them. My husband is currently in love with Pleasants Dinner menu, bunch of guy food stuff, pork chops, ribs, steaks. I personnally could eat sushi every night and be very happy, poor, but happy. 🙂

Bombi, thanks for the update on Lori's. I'm hoping the business will be up and running by the time I get back to the Reef in December/January.
