Well at the risk of driving everyone crazy with JJ talk he had a great first day and did not want to come home. We put him on the dolphin swim team and he said that his teachers were great. Apparently he said nothing inappropriate. So far so good.

Lizard the name of the Art Linkletter show was Kids say the darnedest things.

I have never been to breezes so I will give them a try and give my input. I have never experienced Thai food so will try that as well.

looks to be a cloudy overcast day today but fongs is open again after being closed for a month so no more having to go down to times square for convience store items anymore, apparently the husband had a stroke from what i was told but he's better now,oh and i just read a book called "the hairstons an american family in black and white" got it at the library and it tracks one family from the 1690's to the 1990's during the plantation/slave days in north carlina and virginia through the civil war, reconstruction, the civil rights era and it's from both the black and white perspective, really good book but i was dismayed to see that the book had only been checked out 3 times in 3 years

My wife, Tina, is a Certified Master Gardener from U of CT. She was looking to hook up with some landscaper or garden center to intern for a while when we move down in April.

She says she has to get up to speed on island flora, planting, and pests before she can strike out on her own like she did in CT.

Any thoughts?

:-)haha ...at least it grows back, huh?

Each haircut here is an adventure. Got one really good one in 6 months.
The last one I paid for I asked for a trim and came out nearly bald.
Finally just decided to let my daughter give me a buzz cut.

At least twice, my husband has been to barbers here and said take "this much" off, and did the little thumb/forefinger sign for about 1/2 inch. You guessed it. That's all they left him! He now goes to Crystal at Indulgence Salon. He loves her.

I suggest you check with Luca at Southgate Farms. Send me a pm and I can get you a contact number. They grow all organically and he's been on island most of his life. She's right about getting up to speed. Gardening in STX is a world different than in CT.

Yeah, I was told by Antilles that all available units at Club St Croix including ours are booked solid for the first two months of 2010.

We constantly get longer term guests from Hess in our unit. Of course we keep it pretty up to date and maintained, so many ask for it on return.

And by the way, if you know of anyone that wants to come down to visit and stay at a GREAT beach front efficiency, PM me and I will get you to the details.

here's a couple of ideas, trying STX defendants on STT via teleconfrencing and vice versa and offering or (forcing)military service instead of incarceration

true, but think of the self control that would be taught and the trade or technical education that would be received, plus it would rid the island of some of the criminal element,i've got a story from an old time crucian to tell but i'm organizing my thoughts,it's about why adelbert and mary moorhead and people of their ilk are so hatefull and bitter

ok so my friend told me that the reason adelbert and mary spew so much hate is that they have seen all of their lives the independent islands down here pass laws to restrict "outsiders"the BVI's are a perfect example and they seem to think that these little kingdoms are perfect and that they really want these islands to be little kingdoms, which basically boils down to tribal rule and who can kill whom faster to grab all the power (think haiti, the DR and all the other little dictatorships over the years) and so with all the hate they've been forcing into the constitution they are merely reinforcing what they and their ilk want in the long run, they know this constitution does not have a snowballs chance in hell but thats not the point, their point is to go on record with their hate,so then i asked one of the very liberal lawyers i know why the anti gay thing and the "who's a native crap"thing could not be considered a "hate" crime and he said well technically it could because all discrimination is based on hatred. lol so it's a case for the ACLU at some point in the future if it ever gets that far.

So my brother and sister in law got grounded in STT due to high winds and cannot make it to STX. That would be fine as they are still in paradise only without us but the airline lost their luggage as well. My brother in law packed his much needed medications in his suitcase for some reason so it is not a good situation. I am worried sick. They are at the airport this am trying to find some way to get here. For the first time I feel the limitations of living on an island and feeling helpless that I cannot go and rescue them. My advice to anyone coming to STX is to try and find a direct flight from the states and not go through STT or PR. This is the 3rd time family members have come to see us and had their connecting flights from PR or STT cancelled. It does not look as though these winds are going to die down until Monday evening. If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated.

I doubt seriously the ferry is running. We are having very high winds and seas.

It was running on Friday. I know someone who took it over from St Thomas to St Croix after their fight was canceled because of the wind. Its worth a try.

I saw the ferry headed over to STT this morning (Monday). I sure would NOT want to be on it! When is this weather going to settle down? At least there is sunshine this morning, and the wind has abated some.
