Our family is investigating locations on St Croix for a wedding and dinner reception.
Would appreciate your input and experience.

About 50 guests, -don't want to blow the wad, -someplace nice.

We've been investigating the usual suspects: Carambola, Buccaneer, Whim, Botanical Gardens.
Caveats or Recommendations on those places??

Other places?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Keep in mind that if you are having the reception at a resort, you will need to use their catering and go by their time restrictions. The Buccaneer doesn't allow receptions to go past 10 or 11. I just went to a wedding/reception at Carambola and it was wonderful, but pricey.

Neil,
You could do alot of this yourself and save alot of money. You could get married on any beach or at the gardens or even at a sugar mill. You could check with Louise Leard or Jeness Chappelle to actually perform the wedding.
How about getting married on the Roseway? What a beautiful boat. Have someone cater the food.
You could always have the reception at one of the restaurants. I've seen receptions at Off The Wall, the couple actually got married at the beach at Carambola then came to OTW for the reception. Maybe Eat @ Cane Bay could put something together for you that's a nice spot.
