BacK to my question. Where are getting you information from? Have you participated in any of the programs? What exactly, aside from hearsay about asvertisements, do you know about the sea lion encounter? The expert staff? The hisorty of the animals? The mission and goals of the program?

How do feel about Turtles? Do think Coral World is mistreating them too? What about seahorses? Do you know CW contributions to preservation? Do some reasarch on the facility before launching the scud.

As a VI resident you may want to looking into annual memberships and conservation projects. Good perks especially if you are interested perserving a healthy enviorement for reef life.

"Our hope is that we can engage local residents, especially school children, and visitors in the Coral Restoration Project."

I couldn't find the info about seahorses. Prehaps some else rembers going to that evening lecture series....facinating.

There is no such thing as a domesticated dolphin and nor should there be.

With all due respect, have you ever seen a wild dolphin? Are you aware of the amount of distance a wild dolphin will swim in one day?

I loved going to Sea World when I was little. But as soon as I got older, the place made me very sad- escpecially the whale and dolphin tanks. Dolphins and whales are not like cows or horses that spend a lot of time grazing in one area. They need adequate space to be healthy and happy. Why is it that Orca's dorsal fins flop over when they go into capativity? Its been said that they are not getting enough excercise.

The sea turtles at coral World made me extremely sad when I saw them. Now that I know they are being rehabilitated and may not be able to survive on their own, I feel a little differently. I still think just like many people don't want to be kept on life support or live in a nursing home, the turtles would rather be put to rest than linger in a lethargic state in captivity.

Everyone supporting dolphins in cpativity should watch The Cove.

I agree with your stand against keeping wild animals captive. And I never liked the over commericalization of SeaWorld. But I do believe we are comparing apples to oranges.

Coral World does "rehabitat" turtles at the point they are ready to survive back in a natural enviroment. They are very active in protecting the Turtles nateral enviorement and nesting areas.

if you read the petition, you'll see some assertions which are clearly false. The first signer is from the UK. Only ONE of the frist 150 signers is from the VI. The overwhemling majority of the first 500 signers are european. I wonder who stands to gain (finacially) from bad mouthing CW. I wonder what other "development projects" are competing. Who has some inside scoop?

Sea World also rehabilitates marine animals and returns them to the ocean. They also have a conservation program that has provided millions in it's short time of existence. Not apples and oranges at all. Just a jumbo apple to a petite apple comparison.

I doubt someone is planting false information to compete with Coral World. But anything's possible. You are correct asserting that no credible source has been provided proving the allegations in the petition. I'm on it. But it would help if you, or someone else, provided credible sources to support your assertion that the allegations are "clearly false". Obviously, you have an inside scoop if you're so positive. Might save us some time.

If you take some time to read about the dolphins, instead of analyzing the demographics of petition signers, you'd understand that there is a very large international movement to ban dolphins in captivity. Why should Europeans not be concerned about inhabitants of waters we share?
